Rahab: Joshua 2

Josh 2:12-13 “Now then, please swear to me by the LORD that you will show kindness to my family, because I have shown kindness to you. Give me a sure sign that you will spare the lives of my father and mother, my brothers and sisters, and all who belong to them—and that you will save us from death.”

Dis so mooi vir my hoe sy haar familie in die deal ingesluit het, ek wonder hoeveel mense daar was? Ons leef in 'n tyd waar elkeen net vir homself uitkyk, en hier kom verbaas 'n prostituut ons met groot liefde vir haar familie.

Dis ook baie cool dat sy oortuig was sy kan deel word van God se volk omdat sy in Hom glo, en dit in die ou testament ☺. Ongeag die feit dat sy 'n prostituut was (ek ken nie so iemand nie, maar sou ek geglo het sy kan gered word?). Sy het net gehoor van al die wonderwerke en geweet daar is nie 'n ander God nie.

Amazing hoe baie wonderwerke ons van weet, en nogsteeds sukkel om in God se krag te glo. Ek dink al die special effects in flieks maak ons bietjie blind vir die bybel se wonderwerke...?

Josh 2:17-18  Now the men had said to her, "This oath you made us swear will not be binding on us unless, when we enter the land, you have tied this scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and unless you have brought your father and mother, your brothers and all your family into your house."

Joshua 6:23 The two spies went and brought Rahab and her family to a place outside the Israelite camp.
